                                                     The Rat Race

Hi, well my first blog was all about humor, 3 years later I stand here talking about a JEE Aspirant.

Let's get this into a story form, because I know this isn't only about me but about the millions of JEE Aspirants out there except the nerds. Well, here we go...

There was this average kid named Mukesh, in 8th standard, was academically doing well, had a good set of friends. Everything going well and he was even a part of the school council. One day, Rajesh, one of Mukesh's oldest friends, who too was the so called "topper", came and told Mukesh about this entrance test he gave for some coaching class, Mukesh completely unaware of what a coaching class is, asked what it was. This was the first time he was introduced to the college, ' Indian Institute of Technology '.

Rajesh spoke of how they prepare students for IIT from eighth standard itself, and your chances of getting into the prestigious IIT's becomes more if you start early. Mukesh had decided he too wanted to join these coaching classes, but the problem was, he didn't want to join out of interest but because everyone in the city was doing the same thing and he wanted to look cool.

In September 2019, he gave the entrance test of a coaching class, he saw how hundreds of students had come to give this test. It was Mukesh's first time, he was handed over an OMR sheet, he attempted all the questions assuming he would get the best of the batch, little did he know that the paper had negative marking too. This was the first time he got to know of some negative marking that existed.

A week later Mukesh got his result, he was assigned the Champions batch, he was all happy, that he had made it to the coaching class, he had cleared the entrance test. Next day he told Rajesh and all his friends that he was going to join the Foundation Course starting from the beginning of ninth standard.

Mukesh had done well in eighth standard and scored ninety two percent, his offline coaching were about to start until COVID-19 hit the world.
